Just by color, I'm thinking transmission fluid.

Yes, the red color OP is trans.
Other possible leaks in that specific location, Rear Main Seal, possibly Valve Cover (could weep and make it's way to the back area like that, or so stories have been told).

I did replace the valve cover gasket about a month ago.
i did found small crack on top of the valve cover but went ahead with the new gasket.
the crack was on upper part of the plastic cover and did not expect it will leak through there. I have not check it but maybe I should.

is there smart way to pin point the leak?
RMS sounds really serious. hate to go through there before its 100%.

should I wipe the old oil and wait for new drops to form and compare the two with engine oil and transmission oil?

I also heard about the oil pan gasket. which seem less scary than the RMS.

I did the OFG a month ago so I am not so much worried about that, also because it looks like the leak is coming from the rear of the engine...

what do you think guys?

thank you. dtla1 and notherndancer

Well I'm no mechanic but valve cover and oil pan are both oil and we are thinking transmission. In any case, I think professional help is needed here. Suggest a look in www.bimrs.org for a good shop.
