Blotto, you should request the letter from BMW. It can take a week or two. They are really lame by the way. They will tell you that only the new owner can request the letter and they refuse to understand that the buyer NEEDS the letter to import and register it. I tried everything and it was pointless. Just ask them for the letter of compliance and tell them you will be importing your car to US. Make sure you call BMW USA not BMW Canada. The letter is VITAL to sell to US. Good luck.
