135 US release moved up possibly
My BMW salesmen just called me to give me the latest update on the 135. The update is that the car is being released early which means January not March. He said he can fax me over an order sheet now to place my order for delivery in January if I want. Most times I take what dealers say with a grain of salt but this salemen is trustworthy as my family has bought 10 cars from him in the previous few years. Just wanted to relay this information to the other enthusiasts on the board. :headbang:

He told me that pricing was still not released, but if this is true I would think pricing is going to be released shortly since we are close to January. Either way as soon as I get the fax from him I will make all the information available to everyone on this site. Also, I don't have a scanner readily available so if someone on this site wants me to fax this information to them and then they can scan it, it would be much appreciated.

Will do, this also puts me in a predicament as my lease does not end until December of 08 on my G35 coupe. I have no problem getting out of my lease a bit early with my salesmen from Vista, but 11 months early may be pushing it a bit. I was planning on waiting until June to order my car...

The G35 is a great car, and by Dec 08 all the bugs should (hopefully) be shaken out of the 135i and pricing should be more reasonable, so you might just look at this as a blessing in disguise...

Yeah Kurichan, that is exactly right. I am not complaining by driving my G35, I love it and I will be sad to see it go.
Robert, that is exactly what my salesmen told me. He said I can place my order now, but obviously I won't know the price of what I am ordering. Chances are pretty good that I am going to hold out until pricing is released. What complicates matters more is I finally saw the new G37 up close and the photos really do not do that car justice. Now I have to figure out if I still want the 135 or possibly stick with Infiniti with a G37...decisions decisions.

I agree, now that I am torn by the new G37 I definitely need to see this car in person and test drive both. That will ultimately seal the deal for me, whichever drives best will be my next car.

They couldn't possibly force you into purchasing a car you order prior to pricing being released. It seems logical you could get your deposit back should you not like the test-drive, price, etc subsequent to actually ordering the car. They won't have any trouble selling these cars.
I've actually been considering a 335i lately so I need to make a decision quickly if the timeline is being moved. |

That doesn't sound like anything new to me... last Saturday when I was at the dealer here I could have put down a deposit to garantee an order for 1, but they wanted $1000 for deposit, and said it was NON-refundable...
And well personnaly I want to know what the price is actually going to be before I potentially toss away $1000. If you were actually Ordering the car, they'd have to have the pricing and options info so that you could pick what you want and so that they can send a proper order to the factory. |

It has nothing to do with ordering the car, it has to do with the fact that people will be driving the car in the US in January instead of March. People want to see the order sheet so they can see exactly what options, colors, etc. are offered in the US.

This could be good news for me. I wanted to do an ED during April school vacation, so I can take my kids with me, and not have them miss school.
If the car's out in January, then I can probably get a little better discount than buying within the first few weeks of release. I kind of got robbed on my e90 (just shy of MSRP) that I picked up on the 2nd week of US consumption. |

So it's just them trying to get him to put down a deposit to basically hold a spot in line for when they do get that info, and can actually start doing orders, which if the car is now slated to release in January, it would probably be around October |
