Right now, without further info, I doubt the car will be available N/A before the end of March. My sales guy is a 25 year BMW vet...a total operator....he'd be on the phone to me in a nanosecond if the release date had been moved up. |

So a complicated R&D / Marketing / PR / Production / Distribution / Delivery schedule that has probably been in the works for over a year all of sudden gets trimmed by two months?
I'm a little skeptical on that. If it's true, then so be it. Right on then! But I think if this was truly the case... a lot of guys on this board would have been getting phone calls today. That's just my $.02 |

I also had a BMW vet try to deter me from a one. He was like, "why would you want that. A 135i wont come in for less than 40k" and he was comparing it to an irrelevant BMW model. Pissed me off.

Wow, that created a flurry of excitement. I was at my dealer today delivering my M3 for a static display at a BMWCCA event tomorrow (they sponsor my SCCA Solo effort) and as usual talked to the Sales Manager and he didn't mention anything about a change of dates for the 135.

This is all very interesting if true... but a JANUARY release? For a RWD, TT coupe? Hmmm... That sounds a little weird. Most dealerships are slow in the winter.
Well, I hope it IS true, anyway, because I'd love to see the car mags flog the hell out of these things early. |

A customer can put down a deposit on any car they want from any manufactuer..doesn't mean the car will ever be built.....means that they are certain that Military Sales will be able to sell the car...BMW Military Sales in Japan doesn't sell all BMW's, I.E. Z4 or x5's, so Military sales has to wait until they get the okay...no special rules for them. And I didn't say that because they are taking orders means an earlier release...that was the other guy..I just said BMW military sales was told they could start taking deposits, which means they will sell it. Dealers have been taken deposit is the U.S. on M-3 for 2 years now
