Well, looks like the circus has moved out of happy 1-er hollow and on to the greener (richer) pastures of Z4-land.
BMW has locked down all info..pics of the 1-er and it sure looks like we won't be getting anything new until Frankfurt.
Not a good thing. This state of affairs isn't fun anymore...certainly not as much fun as when they were releasing spy-pics by the week earlier in the summer.

And they've perfected their leaked info- compare what we got back in the spring and what Z4 fans got today in the pics below.


This is what we have up ahead...
1] Official International intro at Frankfurt
2] US ordering sheet with confirmed prices
3] N/A debut in Los Angeles
4] Various threads about orders/ prices/arrival dates
5] Intitial impressions of the car upon purchase
6] Mods to the car
7] Group buys on clear tail-lights
8] Photos of the first totalled 1-ers
9] 1-ers for sale

Don't get me wrong...I'm getting a 1-er. But BMW could spice this up a bit immediately... and as time goes on. I'm not looking forward to arriving at item 7-

Thanks for keeping the forum entertaining. BMW certainly hasn't been any help lately. And yeah... I'm not too excited about item 7. Item 8 doesn't sound like too much fun either, but unfortunately it's inevitable (particularly with all the teenagers bugging their parents for one in high school).

Don't forget - right after Frankfurt we'll be getting first driving impressions from journalists. Expect that we'll see more static impressions from Frankfurt around the 12th of September and first drive info within a week or two after. Is it time for vacation?

And please - once we get the cars - no freaking "what wax should I use" threads!!!

But I am 1/2 way serious about the site losing steam- certainly it picks up post-Frankfurt and the release of the ordering guide.
After that it's a slow glide downwards.
Seems inevitable even to die-hards like me. Surely they (BMW) anticipate that. What kills me is to see their attention move from us to the Z4.

2. How often do you change your oil?
3. What kind of gas mileage do you get?
4. Can I take my BMW to JiffyLube?
5. How should I break my car in?
