Hit the nail on the head. We have more per capita. There are less B5 S4s here than 1Ms, lol. It certainly is strange and full of speculation.
I just drive it when time permits on good roads. I see putting around in it as a waste of time - as Arnie says "it's turbo time!" Personal opinion.

hey guys, i recently sold my E46 M3 and have been looking at few options including E92 m3, 1M , Z4m etc.
found a 1M (not advertised on carsales) and the specs are white, stock, 110kms. fsh. price is 55k. ive had a look at PPI done couple of months ago and brakes are fine, tyres are fine, engien compression is all great. it had slight weep from oil filter housing which was fixed, aswell as new oem charge pipe installed. do you guys reckon 55k is a good buy?? |

A 120K VO 1M sold around 6 months ago at a dealer in Vic advertised at $54k. A 100K private sale also advertised at $49k a few months ago so very little in the $55k mark. An 80K was also sold recently at a NSW dealer for around $57k which has been the cheapest dealer car for a while. I think $55k is around the mark for 100k+ cars and unlikely to slip below $50k again or at least for a long time. I am in the market and this is my budget so playing the waiting game. It seems as though the dealers are selling them more reasonably priced due to the price they trade them for.

Hi,
Has anybody looked at the WORV VO 1M in QLD? Even at a price do you consider collectible WOVR not worth it or a possibility? Just thinking with low KM cars in the $80K + mark around $50k for a WOVR seems reasonable? I guess it depends on the status of the repair but if it was done by an Authorised BMW Repairer you would think the car at least is back to factory specs. with thanks |

That said, if you're buying it to drive and enjoy, it would be a great buy for $45k- assuming it's straight underneath. Re: pricing, I think cars are 10-15% more now than they were a few months ago. That said, there seems to be very few sales of these at the moment- you could try that as leverage and get one of the better cars?

Seems like the sweet spot of relatively low mileage is around the $75k mark. Thankfully I sold mine 3 months back at a really good price

2018 bump:
https://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/d...15582853/?Cr=0 if the link goes dead, '11 BSM, 41k km @ 60k aud Don't know why, but despite "fleet vehicle", screams repo to me. As if someone looked up redbook/insurance market value (NRMA market value is around this for example) for quick debt recovery. Flat bottom wheel as well, but missing the style 359 wheels. |

there's one VO with similarly low ks going for below 55 k. slow to move but I think that's cause it had crash damage. |

Yea that VO one looks to be gone now. Marty mentioned in this very thread it didn't have a clean history and as usual, wasn't very specific about it. |

not been much movement in 1Ms recently. many of the cars have been on there for ages. doesnt help that M2 prices are slowly trickling down.

Most of the prospective buyers I've seen posting in forums/facebook groups are on the young side and seem to be barely able to afford them often with mention of needing finance. One issue with these cars is the lack of variation in colour or spec - they're all basically the same car in 3 different colours/different locations. The average standard 1M's will be combed through in the colour of choice to find the 'cleanest' one, but people are starting to modify them too (like myself) to fix the shortcomings of the standard car so some tasteful mods will separate a couple of cars from the pack in a positive way I think.

The cheap VO was a repaired write off. I believe it had a hard hit on the rhf. I did enquire about the car but not convinced the cheap price was an advantage given the cars history.
I think the advertising on the cheap black one is a joke. Says fsh yet it has a service light on and a warning light on and different wheels bit of a red flag. There is an attraction to buying off a dealer hence the private sales not moving so much but trade in values are ridiculous thus reducing any advantage. |
