Will this rim size fit on a 128i sportpackage?

I've read alot of the stickies but still don't understand. I'm n00b

would 18x8.5 et 40 fit on the 128?

and what size tires would you recommend?

8.5 +40 is a bit aggressive for the fronts so you'll have to stretch a 225 on there for better clearance.

225 wide tire is made for something like a 7.5 inch wheel, if you stretch it over a 8.5 wide wheel, it isn't as tall as using a tire that's more appropriately sized for the wheel. Because of that, it will be less likely to rub.
