Have you checked your coolant to see IF it is indeed low? Only check it with the motor COLD.
Checking & adding engine coolant DIY http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=401672 It could be just some undercoating burning off your exhaust - since I bet it is getting quite hot durring spirited driving stints. |

Thanks Dackel - always appreciate your posts and replys. Coolant is OK although kinda hard to read - pushed stick down and warning came on - OK after restart. Doubt anything burning off 'cause have 16,750miles and I have always noticed this since break in (4 oil changes). Somewhat surprised no one else has experienced same? 177views???
Lester? are you lost? - maybe you should try a forum for exceptionally ignorant people. Chad - Thank you for your reply. I suppose the coolant system may becoming somewhat pressurized (more than normal hot) with the waterpump spinning like the deuce, but it where and why would it leak? |

I've definitely noticed some coolant consumption but can't say I've noticed a smell of coolant. I do usually run my hvac on recirculate though.
I always check the level with the ignition off, that's interesting to know it triggers the light (presumably with it on). I've had to add maybe 150ml in the last 5000 miles. Before that, I had to add 450ml (I probably didn't check it for 12k or so). |

I'm experience a similar issue: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...8#post11058938
It's very hard to troubleshoot. I just bought a new reservoir cap and I'm getting the coolant flushed as I write this. Let's see if it helps.
