Did I buy a 135i with the PPK tune??

So - I got a pretty decent deal on a 135i at my local dealer last week. The car felt strong, was in exceptional condition and came with the Performance Exhaust so I rolled home with the car after a bit of haggling.

In all my excitement I didn't realize there was a badge on the intake which reads: BMW Performance Power Kit. Is this a tuned car?

This guy feels noticeably stronger than some of the other 135i cars I've test drove. Any thoughts would be awesome - just trying to figure out what I have.

FTW.

What's the best way to figure out if I have version 1 or 2?

The version 2 has a second radiator in the left hand side of the car (drivers side for those in US). Turn the steering to the right and look at the front of the left wheel well. If you can see a small radiator then its PPK 2. I think the power of the both versions is the same, its just the extra radiator and upgraded fan that gives PPK 2 better cooling.

Can I put a JB4 on top of the PPK? Or is that just a bad idea?

Pretty sure you can, but you might want to ask BMS before you do it.

I bought mine with PPK installed already also.

I did JB4 over PPK about a month after. I had no issues & I did ask terry before hand. When you go to Map 0, which disables JB4, you will be using PPK mapping rather than stock BMW mapping.

You were lucky to find a 135i with both the PE and PPK. That's a good combo.

Thanks for the reply, guys - very happy with the car

I'll be getting the JB4 shortly - running MAP 0 95% of the time and switching to either 1 or 5 to play occasionally.

Just leave it on map 5. You're not going to hurt anything and your gas mileage won't be any worse when you're not getting on it.
