New Esso 93

Noticed that Esso has a new 93 while I was going to fill up my truck. In my 135i, I always put Shell 91. Does anyone know anything about this 93? Is it a true 93 no ethanol? And is it good to use for an Aggressive tune! Or is it just like Petro 94 and this we should stick with Shell 91. Thoughts?

Interesting. I am not a big fan of Esso fuels so I have not seen this yet. Like you, I try to always use Shell 91, and if I have to, Petro Can 94 as a back-up.

Personally, I like Shell 91 because as far as I know, it is the only common fuel in Canada that does not contain ethanol.

On the west coast, we have Chevron 94 that's ethanol free.

Esso 93 has ethanol as far as I know. Shell 91 only for me (where possible).

I thought in BC that all fuels were required to have ethanol in them? Cool if not true! Very jealous of no ethanol 94!!

I always try to plan my trips where I can fill up on Shell 91(when possible). Besides, they're an Airmiles sponsor

Esso doesn't contain ethanol here in Calgary (I would assume Alberta). So it's either Shell or Esso, as sadly we don't have Chevrons either.

Edit: Just called Esso, they're claiming 0% Ethanol in Supreme and Supreme+ across Canada, not just Alberta.

Interesting. I always try to fill up with shell but esso is my backup incase a shell is too far out the way. If this is true then I'll feel less bad about it in the future.

That's good to know. Shell is not easy to find.

I just noticed today that Chevron in BC can now have up to 10% ethanol for the 87,89 and 91 grades. Chevron 94 does not have ethanol.

Really? I took a road trip through Quebec and I thought all Petro 94 had EtOH?

I'm stuck with using Petro 94 in Ontario because I have a company gas card... I wish they went with shell haha.

I use Shell 91 on my tuned n52 engine. Petro feels off. I will look into this Esso 93

Haven't seen the Esso93 yet but with a stock car, not likely a player. According to my research the only ethanol-free fuel in Ontario is Shell 91 and Esso 91(In Ottawa at least that also means Can. Tire and Loblaws gas bars.)

Petro 94 vs Shell 91, which do you use? Seems a lot of you are saying Shell 91...

I can create a new thread if that would get better responses.

Shell 91. You sure Esso 91 is ethanol free?? If that's true then why would Esso 93 not be ethanol free? If that were true then Esso 93 would be a true 93 oct gas and everyone would be running aggressive maps.

EDIT: quoted the wrong post, see above.
