2010 GGC BMW CCA autox season - SF Bay Area
Just wanted to inform all the coneheads out there of our 2010 season plans.
We will have 7 regular season point events (5 at Marina and 2 at Great America) and the Top Driver Shootout at the end of the season. The first event of the year is April 3rd at Marina. We are having a Test and Tune the day before each Great America autox. Format has yet to be decided but the idea is to give people a chance to tune their cars on different course elements. We are hosting 2 Evolution school weekends at Great America. One in May and one in June. Saturday will be Phase 1 and Sunday will be Phase 2. Registration for these schools will open this Monday (Feb 1). The schools will sell out quickly. The full GGC calendar of events can be found here: http://www.ggcbmwcca.org/?page=calendar The classification system is up and running for classifying your car for 2010. Even if you classified your car last year you will need to do so again for 2010. You can keep your driver number from last season or you may choose a new one from the list of unclaimed numbers. Online classification is here: http://autox.ggcbmwcca.org/ As always, we are open to new comers and provide driver coaches at the events. I would love to see some more 1-ers out there this year. Let me know if you have any questions on any of our events. -Matt |

Matt,
What class are you running this year? With the new points,it looks like you might be dropping back to A? I'm going to miss the April date, but hope to be there the rest of the year. Dave

I hope to attend the April 3rd event. At least I'm planning on it. Baby is due the next month so I'll have to get "permission" to leave for a day from the wife.

By next month I meant the month after the autox. So I'll be fine. But I expect my wife will want me to stick around the closer it gets. You never know. Marina is a long drive for an early labor.

registration just opened this morning. 27 people so far. It will sell out by the end of the week.
We are very friendly and welcoming to first timers. We provide driver coaches and try to make the experience very fun for everyone. If you want to find out the handling limits of your car this is the place to do it. Try to explore the limits of your car on the switchbacks and you could ball it up. At an autox the worst you will do will hit a few soft rubber cones that will take all of the damage. So come out and hang out with some car guys and see what your BMW can do. |

Nice video, but damn you guys in cali have a lot of room to play with. All of the NY Autoxs ive been too are very low speed and technical. But then again, our parking lots arent nearly that big.
Your course is also far better marked than ours. |
