Anyone have this happen before? Wasn't even fully tighten and broke off. Cheap?

Half of the bolt is still in the oil pan. Any ideas how to get it out? Really appreciated.

Dimple magnetic plugs are the best.

That will ruin a day. Get these, they work well.

The stock drain plug is best.

I looked at the pictures, but skimmed over the oil pan comment.

I have them in my transmission and diff and love them but never considered it for the engine oil. Not for any particular reason.

I've got same ECS drain plug.
No issues form me. Believe I've done about 20 oil changes since I got it.

Thanks for everyone's response. Good thing I got the broken plug out of the pan. Maybe a faulty part, seemed cheap though.

Nothing.
It's just some of us bought into the magnet plug.
Mine does catch metal. Weather I'm happy to know that or not I'm still undecided on. How do I know when it's too much or how much cumulative is too much?

Can you please explain how you got it out in case it happens to someone else?

Sure. The plug was hollow, so I inserted a drill bit into the broken hollow plug still in the oil pan, and hand screwed it out. It wasn't too hard to screw out. Hope this helps!
