Year One of the 1 ???

Why does my 2009 135i have this little "Year One of the 1" around the start button?

It was built 12/08.

NUB for sure! I'm learning as quick as I can...promise.

I never expected to purchase a BMW 135i...odds were I would win a trip to the moon, since the 1er wasn't even on my radar. I can honestly say that I'm glad I got the car over the Camaro.

It was love at first drive.

Thanks for not murdering me over the re-post of this little fun fact. Just seemed odd to go by Calendar YEAR vs. MY.

Actually all Year 1 cars come with a fancy book. Its a very impressive book actually.

IIRC, the "Year One of the 1" covered the first 12 months of the North America coupe/cabrio builds - or roughly from about March, 2008 thru Feb., 2009. There was a thread on this about a year ago if someone wants to search.
