Xenon Power-on Self test?
Just curious, do the Xenon headlights perform a power on self test each time they are turned on? (i.e., point the whole way up, the whole way down, then return to the normal position)

Welcome to BMW; yep every time you turn them on.

I believe all Xenon lights are required to be self-leveling by law, at least in Europe. Not sure about the US/NA.
In my E46 M3, the bi-xenons leveled themselves as you drove. You could see the top cutoff adjust up and down as you went over crests, speed bumps, etc. I haven't driven the 135i enough at night to notice if it does this as well. |

Nice feature. The lights also aim right/left around turns.
However, it's another moving electrical part that can break!
