Not hard to look up, but here's the link:
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2013-bmw-135is-16/ Looks a lot like my old 1er, except mine was not a 135is. Sold mine for $20k last year with just over 46k miles. |

That's a little high, but not completely unreasonable for an ultra low-mileage example of a very rare car. I lusted after that exact configuration when it was new.
I think it's silly to argue about intrinsic value of a car--up to a point. I don't like new cars. I can't think of any new car that I truly lust after. If I were willing to pay $40k for an average car today, I wouldn't blink to pay much less for one I really liked, even if it wasn't "worth it" to the general public.

I think BAT is hilarious. Some cool cars sure do show up there though huh.
Aren't we all past caring about the monetary value of these cars? Pretty sure I just spent about it's total value in upgrades and repairs this past year alone

Drive the car as much as I can, averaging 12k miles a year, when my commutes have historically been 3-8 miles each way. Always curious about someone owning a car like that 135is and the car only having 14k miles on it. Just drive it, drive it alot. That's what cars are for. |

So, essentially, he lost about $1.25 for every mile he drove it over seven years. Or it depreciated about $2,500 every year while it mostly sat in the garage. Not that there's not something very special about such a low-mileage car. I just wonder if the owner got as much enjoyment out of it as others here who have done 6-times the miles on theirs?
I hope the buyer actually drives it! |

Seems a bit high... although maybe the new buyer is looking for a museum piece. On another note I'm really impressed by how well the e82 holds up overtime.

It's nice to see that a very low mile 135is can be sold for this much. I doubt most of our cars will reach this value as we have driven our cars more and some of us even modded our cars.
That said, I don't think I can ever sell this car. I've done my best to have as much fun as I can with this car and made it fit my taste when it comes to novelty. |

I was watching that auction too and I believe it's the first non-1M to be sold on that site! Really setting the bar high!
I doubt many of us will sell our 1ers for anything close to that, but then that's why we continue driving and enjoying them year after year!

Hopefully that new owner joins us here, and jumps in on the fun in driving the car (and realistically fixing a few things along the way here and there lol)

A 135is in black metallic with DCT auto and 2,200 miles sold for $37,500 recently in Ohio at Enthusiast Auto Group, It was a sharp car with a red interior.

I still don't understand the appeal of these. They aren't a special drivetrain combo like the 335is

It's a personal thing, and honestly, I also don't find too much appeal. When i was initially shopping around, maybe. Was nice to get a car with a few mods I might have already been planning to do, especially the reliability/cooling mods. Now a days, I'd rather just drive my car as I have it now and enjoy it. |

Little higher price but when you find a perfect color combo with very low miles and rare 135is model, you should go for it.
E82 is a great car, even 128i is so much fun to drive with the hydraulic steering. I hope the owner enjoys this car for very long time 👍 |

The 135is is a nice little package of Performance parts. Plus it's a limited edition. What stands out to me is the PE, PPK2, and the beautiful 313s. All of that can be added to any 135i (for as long as those parts are available), but it won't make your car a 135is. It's not special like the 1M, but I'm sure 135is owners love and appreciate their cars, as they should.
