BTW ccdre, is your M3 Mineral White? Can't tell for certain from the pic. I saw a Mineral White E92 M3 in person and even got to test drive it. Man, was that car beautiful.

Looks like MW to me which tends to look satin sometimes.

Congrats on the new car. Keeping the 1er?

It's actually frozen white (limited edition). I believe they use mineral White with a "flat" looking clear coat.

Frozen white on coral red would be tits. Black leather interiors here in Texas without ventilated seats is just a bad idea. I'm still jealous.

Put on the 3.5" VRSF (ceramic coated) cat-less downpipe yesterday. Installation took about 2.5 hours start to finish. Had to break two of the studs on the OE DP to get it out. Alignment on the VRSF pipe was actually really good, the flanges line up nice and flat. Swapped the JB4 over to Map 2 and took it for a drive. Power is great, also sounds amazing through the OE exhaust (golf-tee'd). A little raspy when cold, but that's to be expected. I'm still considering a Berk Street exhaust...but am happy with this for now. The wifey loves it (her daily driver), and took it for a burn last night...instant smiles with Sport mode on!

Nothing...but at the major intersection closest to my office there were no less than three 135i vehicles next to each other waiting at the light. These aren't the most common vehicles so I thought it was pretty cool.

Wow, that must've been a sight. I rarely see them in my neck of the woods.

Same here! There's a red one always parked in front of a house on my commute, usually covered. And there's a carbon black 135 that I occasionally see on the road near my job. Other than that sightings are extremely uncommon.

Had a little fun (kidding, working on these cars sucks, always) while working from home today.

Gloss black grilles FINALLY installed, added tricolor ///M vinyls, and swapped my ugly stock halo bulbs for CREE LED's. I got the LED's on eBay so judge away but they were less than $30 shipped so if they don't work in 6 months I won't care. Here's the link if anyone is curious, they are true 6500k CREE LED's from what I can tell, and no weirdness with the voltage.

Wasn't sure how I'd like it but I'm very happy with the look.

Matticus91, is there a way to go LED for the LCI strips on the headlamps as well? The yellow-ish colour temp on those looks out of place now.

I agree and no unless you replace it there's no way to change them! I might get new light housings in their entirety one day but I'm very happy with this for now at $30!

Better pics of LED's and new grille!

Doesn't take long and no tools but it's a complete bitch getting the housings off and the wires all tucked in nicely. Prepare yourself for frustratement and you'll be fine. I was expecting it to be much easier.

I've watched a few videos of AE installs, seems to be very little room to work for sure. Gotta be super careful getting the covers back on so they seal up properly- how many times have we read a post about headlights failing because the cover wasn't sealed right after a simple install....

I'm actually debating just pulling the front bumper off & taking the lights out. Front bumper is only, what, 10 minutes to get off the car....

So did you have to take out the wheel well guard to get the rings to turn white? or is it just a swap out where the headlight is?

Very good reason to NOT cheap out and buy eBay bulbs so you never have to do this again. Doing this more than one time and risk not getting the covers back on correctly is more than I want to do. I've had the Lux on mine for over a year now with excellent results and no problems.
