Should be fine as long as you don't open it forcefully,
a few weeks ago after a snow storm my windows were frozen shut and I didn't notice till I went to close the door that the window was resting outside of the lip. |

simple. Grab a brick and break the window. Now with that out of my system, just be gentle when opening the door, like everyone else has said, it'll open and you won't damage anything. Get a bmw battery and have it coded, to avoid potentially chasing stupid little issues down the line.

As said above, this happens when the window freezes as well. Be ginger with it, but a little downward force when opening the door will give you some clearance. Do the same in reverse for closing.
