~▪~▪{ OFFICIAL DYNO THREAD }▪~▪~
We need to start a thread that compiles all dynos for easy comparisons. I know dynos are not the end all be all since they vary from shop to shop, car to car, day to day, BUT it will give use a baseline in choosing what tune/exhaust/intake to go for. I would like to start off loose with the numbers and then continually refine them until we have reached a consensus about the correct power figures. I will add them all to my post so they will all be on one page. I would like to open this up to all n54 engines since there is more data floating around for the 335's.

Are you sure the link is right? You are making less than 200 whp?

I went to a mini meet and dyno my car. Due to the high demand I couldnt get my torque readings because they said it would take 45 mins. My car as follows:
Car: 135i Coupe Tuning: JB1 Exhaust: Stock Intake: BMS Duel Intake Intercooler: Stock BOV: AA Dyno: DYNOJET Temp: 95.03 F° Himidity: 38% WHP: 323.22 WTQ: N/A Here's a link to the dyno: http://img267.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img0001st0.jpg Overall, I was really happy with my numbers. I was only expecting around 300whp because it's only the stage 1 chip. |

Yeah that's what I thought and told the guy who dyno the car. I didnt think the guy that did the dyno was very knowledgeable. I dont know a lot about dynos but it doesnt take 45 mins. to get torque readings on our cars does it? On the other forums I read they just need to hook up to wires....

HP and Torque takes the exact same amount of time if the dyno is working right, haha. That guy was just blowing smoke at you to cover his malfunctioning dyno.

A dyno measures HP and than computes torque using the RPMs given throughout the band. The formula is as follows: HP x 5252 ---------- RPM So basically if you had the RPM input everything could be solved for regardless. You went to a lazy dyno shop and essentially got half a dynosheet. |

Yea, 300hp at the engine crank - (300x.12) (12% loss) = 264hp, measured at the wheels.

Thanks...I didn't think it was bad at all considering it was 86 degrees out.
I have unlimited access to a Dyno for free so i will test every part i get. I'm one of the first 25 for the RissRacing exhaust so I will have a dyno on that as soon as i get it.

Kompey, you might want to convert some of your figures, since there in metric. Keeps everything equal. For quick scrolling through.
Wheel Horsepower Wheel Torque degree's F By the way nice gains with your mods!
