BMW Performance exhaust fitted
Picked my car up yesterday after having this fitted. Sounds really nice, slightly deeper tone at idle and fairly reserved before 4k RPM, after this the tone gets rather sexy and stays like that all the way to the red line.
The flap and actuator in the rear box is not there any more so that annoying "Clunk" has gone and you don't get the tone change when it opens under light acceleration. All in all I am really please, it is not a neighbour waker around town and back streets, it just rumbles away just nicely with a sporty rasp that is pleasant and not offensive, but get it on the slip road and floor it and you think a Ferrari has just pulled up the slip road along side you. Hit a few tunnels and WOW, what a nice sound. I dropped my ITG air filter back in when I got home last night, but haven't really had the chance to rag it properley yet round the usual roads I "play" on. I would say it seems to pull slightly better lower down and what little lag there was seems reduced still further. So I am very pleased with it, the sound is "Quality" and not over the top, in your face "Boy Racer" but it is noticeable louder and when you want to hear as well as feel the power. |

Have you noticed more of a sense of urgency when you accelerate now and better torque lower down the rev band ? |

Not trying to knock this as I don't have one, but all the pics I've seen of this BMW performance exhaust show the end tips protruding too far out !!!
So is this actually a BMW product, or have they contracted someone else to make it for them ??? You'd expect OEM parts, both stock and performance to be of a perfect fit/finish...??? |

As far as I understand, they cut the old exhaust system out and refit them, so it is not a part that will be fitted to a certain connection, so it's up to your shop to fit them as you like.
The thing i ordered this exhaust is that you will keep your warranty and it doesn't sound to bad. Stock sounds a bit too tame for my taste. During the decision making, I also drove an Audi S3 it is a very different setup but there you heard the power of a) the engine b) after 3000rpms the nice whistle of the turbo. But the 135 won by a large margin in my book Hopefully it arrives mid-october. |

It does protude a little further than you would expect, but as the pipe are staggered too, if it was fitted any further back the shorter pipe would be back too far and it would look wrong.
I also got this one as my warranty remains intact. It is bagded as a BMW part and the part number is listed a a BMW part too. |

I have one installed and it doesn't stick out that far, I'm betting they cut the pipes to long, which could be easily fixed. Another thought make sure the new parts haven't slid forward in the special clamps, they new parts should buty upagainst the old pipe, then tightend.
It's a BMW part, looks very similar to stock with the exception of larger diameter outlets, and no flapper valve, and does have a little nub like finger to attach the vaccum line to preventing air from being sucked in. Fran |

It depends on the server/internet speed. Sometime it takes awhile for the utube video to load.

Yup thats the BMW exhaust and you don't need the tunnel to hear that sweet sound just keep getting on the throttle:headbang:. My tips were also sticking out too much for my taste so I had my dealer just fit it to tuck in more.
