Side Mirror Question!! URGENT!! ACCIDENT :(

hey guys,

so as i drove next to a mercedes S CLASS.....the passenger of the S CLASS decided to open their door....they cloth lined my mirror and scratched my door

so i need a replacement ASAP....do the E92 M3 side mirrors fit the 1M?

some people have told me that they don't fit because the m3 metal pieces don't fit on the 1 series - is this true?

please help meeee!!

thanks!

best,
mike

The 3 mounting bolts are in a very slightly different pattern/spacing with the 1M vs M3. Definitely do not fit without modification.

Individual Cars M mirror

Depending on what's broken and what type of mirror options you have, they can deliver the low spec version from Germany in 2 days.

hi eeghie!

thanks for the quick reply - my entire mirror was taken out and have to replace the whole entire set - i assume these are not OEM right? also - i have the basic model - no fold, just electronic adjusting the mirror itself

thanks!!

I would assume they are OEM, simply because I have not seen any non OEM supply. As you seem to have the base level mirror as advertised, i'd give them a call to confirm all details.

@artemis any chance you know what market the #1 mirror on the second page of the drawing is from? I got a set of 1M mirrors with that exact type of glass and they are amazing!

That's because you have folding mirrors with auto dip, heated wide-angle (instead of convex) mirror glass (code S313A [Fold-in outside mirror] + code S430A [Interior/outside mirror with auto dip]). Mine is like that too (EURO spec).

To see the list including the details of the stock version with autodip, the "National version Korea" and the "Gulf version":
  • Visit http://www.bmw.de/de/topics/service-...lekatalog.html
  • Click on "Zum elektronischen Teilekatalog" (ID: eu111111 | password: bmwetk1)
  • In the scroll down menus "Series*" and "Model*" click on "1' E82" + "M Coupé"
  • Click on the ">>" button (below)
  • Click on the "+" before the MG code "51" ("Vehicle Trim")
  • Click at code "07" on "Outside Mirror"
  • Tick the box "51_8283" ("Mirror glass, M wing mirror")
  • Click on the ">>" button
    Pronto !

Yep. I put 1M Mirrors on my 135i and it was a direct fit so should work fine the other way as well.

Thanks! I dont have heated mirrors or autodip, I guess the glass itself is PnP. Love the Convex mirror!
