Looks are definitely subjective, but even then I think calling this "so ugly" is a bit of a stretch. I'll happily scoop a used one up for 30k in 3 years if this attitude remains prevalent. B58's are making crazy power now too.

Luckily, there will be tons of vehicles with B58's to hold over those that want one without the looks of the supra. I can't think of any coupe in recent years that looks worse than this. No stretch for me, this is a very big miss. Luckily it will have gobs of aftermarket support to help it's looks. I'm sure there will be some heavily modified ones that I don't mind. Varis needs to do a $20k widebody kit I'll never buy

Not really. Some of the reviews I read yesterday say it's a pretty cushy ride, more GT-like, and, even in Sport mode, it leans too much on the track. I couldn't really imagine giving up a lighter, better looking, more utilitarian car with good steering like the N55 135i for the new Supra, and that's not to mention no manual transmission option.

Now, if the new Supra was 2800 lbs and came with a manual, this would be a different discussion, but a Cayman is still the one to beat when it comes to handling.

Really the mkiv was a GT car that was underwhelming in stock form so that's no surprise.

Interesting. Matt Farah is far and away the best driver of the reviewers I watched (and the guy from Speed Academy), and they had glowing reviews of the handling, steering and track ability. Farah was destroying everyone's lap times, got several point byes. He also called it a drift machine. He did say he wished the steering was a tad quicker, but soft, gt like and too leany were not mentioned. Which reviews mentioned those qualities?

Ya, the b58 is clearly the engine to own now and will probably have the largest aftermarket of any BMW every built thanks to the Supra. My eye has started to wander....but I'll definitely hold out for a few years when depreciation hits.

Completely agree with this, looks like a nice GT car but I wish it was more track focused. Many have commented the steering feels a bit too light as well.

Sorry for taking so long to post a couple of pics of the DCT fluid service I had done. One pic is of the new filter which goes into the side of the trans. The other pic is the opening in the trans where the filter is inserted.

My mechanic said the trans didn't need to be fully dropped to get to the filter. But definitely need to be lowered some so the new filter would have clearance to be inserted into the trans.

Definitely! I had a Mark lll Supra with a manual transmission and that car was a blast! Loved it till I totaled it. Not the Mark lV super supreme Supra, but still lots of fun! Might not've bought it if it didn't come in a manual.

I've heard that Toyota has had a ton of requests for a manual version of the Supra. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw one in a year or two.

As for what I did for the 1er today, I replaced the OFHG and coolant change. Easy stuff. The worst part was actually removing the air box. Not hard-just harder than it should be!

I ordered a set just to see if AZwas totally confused or if they really had these things ready to ship. I wasn't holding my breath, they've been on perma-backorder for months now. modified a brodit bracket by drilling two holes into it then got a wireless charger and drilled a hole through the clamps , pushed the clamps through the brodit bracket and cable tied the clamps shut to make it more secure. i now have a magnetic wireless charger without the worry of the charger falling of the airvents

so far my only complaint is the chimes for seatbelt warning/low fuel/ or fault chimes have changed and i cant control them to set them back to default but other than this its a great responsive headunit for not very much money.

I have downloaded an app called carwebguru which alows you to fully customise the menu layout and home screen so the screen isnt filled with apps or widgets you dont want or need. dm me you want any more details or advice on it. sadly I didnt take any pics of the fitting process but it was straght forward and simple. the only mildly technical part was shaving the climate control edges to fit lower down in the dash which took 5 min to sand each side but you get all the details you need in the instructions and as i said it was simple.

New suspension goes in next week (Finally)! Bought one of the last Performance suspensions left about 6 months ago, but had some other life stuff crop up shortly after and its been sitting in the box in the house since.

But today, finally got the rest of my parts in and scheduled my installation.

Set up is looking like: M3 front control arms, Performance suspension, M3 rear subframe bushings.
