Welcome! How'd the install go? I did a similar installation back in December. One of the few mods I'm capable of doing by myself.

You didn't pay for the shop next door to do that? Or ask the guys at the salon to help? =P

Looking for new tires: I'm almost down to the wear indicators on my rears... Only after 10K miles on the stock RFTs, which is rather unusual, I think.

I've been really good about maintaining the tire pressures per the manual, yet the rears are almost toast... The fronts are still okay, but I'll probably replace all four and go square.

Any chance you'll go non runflat? What did South Bay BMW say when they did their tire tread depth thing when you brought it in for service the other day?

I'm at 2/32" after 9K miles on the Bridgestone RFT's on the rear. 10K doesn't surprise me.

Absolutely... I'll probably go with 225/45-17s all around instead of the stock 225/45-17 rear and 205/50 front.

They did point out that I was getting close to the wear indicators, which surprised me... As did the fact that the difference in wear between the fronts and rears was so large.

Hmm, now that I look at the specs for the stock Goodyear NCT5 tires, their treadwear rating is a rather low 240.

Potenza RE050A. The advantage over the Contis is that you can patch/plug these (which I had to do once). They were on the car when I bought it - CPO.

Just ordered a "No Holes" front license plate kit from http://www.usmillworks.com/ I do not need another reason to be pulled over (it's illegal in Texas to not have a front license plate)!

Yep. Same thing here in Colorado. Gotta have the front plate. It's super annoying, but better than getting constant tickets. Plus, I live downtown and the parking meter crew will give tickets for no front plate while you're parked at a meter.

From Denver's website:

License plate violation:

You need both a front and rear plate on your car, and they need to be at least 12 inches from the ground, on the outside of the car, fastened horizontally. In the City and County of Denver, both the police and parking enforcement agents enforce the license plate law, and this ticket is a whopping $75.

Ordered the BMW Performance Suspension Kit from BMWPartsPros.com!!! Installation will be performed by Turn In Concepts. Who knows what other goodies may be in store for this car in the near future...

The front and rear springs that are part of the package are not pictured below.

Here Rick, I'll help you out and picture the springs in their boxes/wraps on the left and right of the performance suspension kit box.

Congrats! Gregthegr8 is really good at helping us spend our money Can't wait to hear your initial impressions after the install. He's still raving about his p. suspension upgrade, so I'm sure you'll be telling the same story very soon.

RickMSport is trying to get me to buy the same package. The only reason I haven't ordered mine is I'm 9 thousand miles away where the toilets flush in the opposite direction.

Question: how do you blokes in OZ afford BMWs? A used 2013 135is was selling for $65k AU. Hopefully they sell the cars with paint protection since those drop bears can really scratch up a car.

I guess that means I'm trying to get you to buy the same package by proxy. =P

The good news is, you can order it online and by the time you get back, it'll be waiting for you. =) Just ship it to Rick's house. Ha!
