installed the Tuner Shifter rebuild kit

https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-5...-335i-n52-n55/

It didn't turn the shifts to smooth effortless, however this kit really took the MT into drivers car feel. I can now down shift from 3rd doing 3500-4000rpm into 2nd and launch the car grip it and rip it.

That's okay, it's for me, not you. The green looks a lot better to me and that's all that matters

I also loved the yellow, but the green is also fantastic. I was less than convinced when you only had the hood and fenders done but seeing the entire front end with the lip on, it is really coming together. It's not a vibrant green but I think it still works. You have me looking at plasti-dip options for my car now...

I found this Miata scrolling through a Flickr feed and bookmarked it. This is a bit shouty and a touch more yellow than I'd like but I think it would work on my 128i for a while.

IMG_2355 by Andres Arancibia, on Flickr

Then there is this Jungle Green color on dipyourcar.com that I think would also look excellent and far more understated.

Maybe I'll start with black mirror caps and see how dip holds up to bugs and rock chips and go from there.

Spent 3 days replacing a half-shaft. The old one was well beyond its usefulness. All of my creaking, popping, and clicking noises are gone. The drivetrain also feels much more taught now, which is nice.

With all wins, however, there must be a sacrifice. In my case, it was my wheel bearing. It's making all sorts of horrible noises now. Who knew bearings didn't like being hammered, blow-torched, hit with penetrating oil, etc. I guess I'll be pulling it all apart...again.

*Sigh*

That just brought me back to the MKIV days when my dad and I were waging all out war with the wheel bearings.

So ya.
I knew of the recall due to breaking bolts. Bought mine 2 years after the recall in hopes all NOS had been sold/fixed.
That didn't pan out.

Sent emails to MFactory and Syncrotech. Just waiting on reply as to what I should do now.

What bolts tend to break? Those don't look like ring gear bolts, so that's (sorta) a relief...

I found my weird noise and vibration. Wasn't the wheel bearing...

I forgot to torque my lug nuts when I was done

Today, I helped my dad switch to Ohlins Road and Track coilovers on his GTI. That thing is just delightful to drive. Deleted my front sway bar, too. We'll see how I like it, but initial impressions are pretty doggone good...

Its not my car. You'd have to ask low135. If I remember correctly it's a carbon fiber hood that he picked it up used on Craigslist. Possibly a Seibon Carbon hood?

I assume you're trying to dial down understeer?

If you want the front bar back on, try adjustable end links if you haven't already. I haven't pushed my car enough since installing a pair, but, for normal driving and slightly aggressive cornering it feels so much flatter.

They've recognized it was defective bolts they've used in their LSDs. So it's a manufacturing problem. Their only remedy was to replace the LSDs. No duh. This is what any manufacturer with a product that has a factory defect should do. What I feel they should have done is to reimburse for the labor in pulling the LSDs and the installation of the new one along with any shipping charges. This may seem excessive for some and it could be. But at a minimum, they should have split half the cost.

And now with some time that has passed and this problem is still occurring is unacceptable to me.

I won't say I'm happy about the situation I'm in. But I don't know what they want to do about it either. So I'm in a limbo state.
It sounded like there where a couple options years ago. But being this is quite a bit later and I haven't found failures between, I'm sure I caught them off guard.

But no matter what, it could have been alot worse. Could have locked up on me doing 150.

Sucks for sure. But I didn't see any other option other than they were just replacing the defective LSDs. I did not see any assistance for the labor involved. I could be wrong and missed where they've provided some greater concession. To me anything short of covering some or all of the labor including shipping is unacceptable.
