OFHG diy questions
Looking to ask a few questions to someone that has done their own OFHG, specifically on 135i.
I cannot seem to move the intake enough to get the last bolt out. Majority of diys state I don't need to remove. Wondering if anyone else ran into this. Frustrated right now.

I have a 128i and did it a while ago so i can only give a general suggestion, but did you try a u-joint? I feel like most jobs on these cars it helps a ton.

If I remember correctly, you have to take the chargepipe off to get more clearance, then just loosen the manifold enough to get to that bolt. But I did it many repairs ago and don't remember exactly what I did. Good luck

Cant really get a good pic of bolt but its the one locate directly underneath intake manifold. Its the "one" that requires loosing and shifting intake manifold.
I do have a uni joint etorx socket but its also a bit thick, which doesn't help. Just stuck and dont want to take off manifold. I did take off chargepipe.

I loosened all (not removed) the intake manifold bolts until I could pull it up just enough to get the socket onto the screw. I believe the cowl needs to be removed to get to the last 2 bolts. Definitely no need to remove the whole intake manifold. Removing the charge pipe will give you more wiggle room on the throttle body side.

On my 128i, I didn't do anything with the intake. I managed to get a tiny 1/4" drive 12-point socket on there with a tiny 1/4" u-joint and extension and was able to get the bolt out. Big PITA though.

I removed the bolts/nuts, but still not shifting enough. Does the intake need to come off the guide bolts? I am using the uni joint socket. Its close, but not as easy as the vids i am seeing.

I took the intake manifold, TB, and charge pipe off and replaced the gaskets and seals while I was in there. It didn't take that much extra time. However I was able to loosen that bolt by pulling the intake manifold away and off the head.
