Tail tips for Akrapovic exhaust

I'm going to buy a Akrapovic slip-on, but I don't want to spend the extra 1.400 dollars in some tips that I don't really like. I'm buying the exhaust for the sound and because of the electronic valve control, not because of the tips.

Can someone show me how does the exhaust look without any tips? Is it possible to run it that way? I read that some members bought the slip-on without tips aswell but I cannot find any photos.

Also, if someone can share alternative tips for sale I appreciate, I know that some threads were created about this but I couldn't find many information. What are the right inlet/outlet measurements?

Many thanks!

Does anybody know the diameter of the Akrapovic tail pipes as shown in this picture?

I was able to order the slip-on without the Akrapovic super expensive carbon tips.

So I had to look for some tips and I ended up ordering the pipes below from aliexpress.

They are made from stainless steel but they go thru a treatment to look like titanium (matte), surrounded by real carbon fiber. These tips have the same design as the M4 Akrapovic tips and I really like the look, much prefer them to the Akra 1M tips. I also had the chance to choose the size I want, which is a plus. I went with the 80mm tips (stock are ~70/75mm) instead of the original 90mm tips which look too big for my taste. They were also alot cheaper of course, at a quarter of the price.

I hope the quality is good, but from the feedback I heard it will be OK, maybe not exactly like the original but not too far. If anyone is interested in this product I'll make a post with photos about it when the tips arrive. Also my exhaust should be here in two weeks time.

They look nice in the pictures, it'll be interesting to see what the quality is like compared to the genuine item.

From your post #10 it reads like you went for 80mm OD, is that the max width of the carbon outer?

Also, what is the ID of the tips?

I've been looking for decent CF tips that will fit the standard exhaust.

Yes 80mm width of the carbon outer, the pipe itself is 70mm.

The inside inlet is 60mm do fit in the Akrapovic exhaust pipes.

You can check in the photos below the quality against an original Akrapovic carbon tip, these are not my tips but are made from the same producer, same model as mine but bigger. This was sent to me from a costumer who bought from this seller, not the seller himself. I think they look very similar.

Thanks for the additional measurements and pics and apologies for slightly veering off thread topic.

I've done a rough measurement of the standard tail and it's around 64mm OD (I've seen another post on here at 63.5mm so I'm not far out with a ruler rather than calipers). Unfortunately BMW tapered the pipe larger where the trim fits over and it's this that is causing the problems finding decent trims for stock.

Great pictures! They certainly look good.

Do you mind posting a link to the aliexpress ad you bought them from?
