If my BMW was slower than the Honda Accord that was out at the time when I purchased it, then I would not have bought the BMW. Or even the Honda for that matter. What next, a Camry out accelerating a BMW? I remember the day's (early nineties and before) when a 325i would destroy a Honda Accord. I guess those days are over. It’s easy to make a car fast, not so easy to build the ultimate driving machine. But At the same time I can’t see myself spending a premium for a car in which run-of-the-mill appliance cars are quicker than it.

ok well you have a 325xi which is slower then the 325i, well heavier by 300 lbs. And that wasnt the question, its not like im going to race against a lambo or ferrari.

I'm not sure why you're wound up so tight over an Accord. Go pick on an Audi A4 or an MB C-class instead.

Are you both new(ish) drivers? Noticed the three pages of numbers racing, brake-torquing and traction control tips? Just go out and do it, and have fun in the process. then let us know.

I race a 2006 A4 2.0T almost daily.
On straights it gets owned.....as soon as we hit the curves the A4 gets raped.

It looks so sick to see a SG 3series and a Red A4 come flying through the twisties.....a true german race

you will own the accord

just keep it pegged to the floor and you'll get a smooth powerfull takeoff while he's just spinning one front wheel and going nowhere.

be sure to stop the race early as once he starts going he'll begin gaining on you.....

I regularly edge out a 325 E46 auto with my Honda Odessey van. How embarrassing is that? But I can beat the van with my 5sp E46 323. So go figure.

I recently test drove an 06 accrd sedan v6 MT, Im impressed with their added HP (242HP). I like the titanium shifter knob, I love the short throw, the gears were crips and precise. The turns werent that bad. Leather seats are much better that e90s SP seats. Overall alot of value. Its a sleeper car, no one would assume that it can outperformed a e90. Im sure it will overtake my e90/325i.

at $27800, I would consider it over a 325i the next time around. I would just change the suspension to HFP and it would be a tight car.
get it a grey and black leather interior, CF trim are standard btw

I owned an Accord 01 V6 coupe, 200hp and I was smoked by my cousin's 00 323i sedan with only 170hp every time, every trafic light, from stand or rolling.
I had an '01 accord V6 too...you are right the car felt slower...but it was the damn tranny that was horrid in that car...the 2004 accord coupe V6 6MT that I had was much much faster!!!!

Like I said before it felt faster then my 325i 6MT......

If we use the same pub. source Car&Driver got 5.9 0-60 for the accord and they got 6.1 0-60 for the 325i.......

so I think if both are autos and you both step on the gas as hard as you can then the accord should have a small edge in a line....after the first 2-3 races....switch cars so that you know that it is not the driver....

Cant wait to hear back from you....Good Luck!!!

I threw away my Accord 2.4 after 2 yrs even lose of half value. The major issue being this car steering is terrible. I test driven a V6 and you have no idea how bad the oversteer could be and I believe it is the most dangerous car with that power.Whoever race a 325i with a Accord V6 , will not make it to the end of the show because he would be killed. I am glad you bring this up, so we can remind people how rubblish a Honda Accord is today.
