Dry Drop-In Filter
Okay, I am just checking the horizon for a dry element drop-in filter. Are there any out there yet or in the works? I have never been a fan of oiled K&N-type air filters.
I have been searching but haven't seen or heard anything yet. Hopefully someone has. |

I noticed AFE Pro Dry S Air Filters for the 135i listed at the autoeverything.com website for $74.00 plus free shipping.
Here's the direct link: http://www.autoanything.com/air-filt...0A3086409.aspx Select the Pro Dry Filter option to see price. |

helene performace has a good streamline filter that most people on here prefer over K&N and AFE.

the streamline filter is oilded right?
btw, i've realised that some people perhaps think that "streamline" is a synonym for "drop in" - its not, its actually the name of a defunct company. HP now makes the (not "a") streamline filter.

- Streamline has deeper pleats than aFe and K&N - Streamline has almost twice as many plies of cotton than aFe and K&N - Streamline has less urethane bleed onto the filtering media We use nothing other in our vehicles.

Thanks. I visited your site but did not click that link since I assumed it was oiled like the rest of them. |

not trying to threadjack, but your wesbite (jlevisw) states that install "Installs in less than 20 minutes using factory mounting points"
Does installing the filter involve more than pulling out the stock filter and placing the new one in its place? |

Wondering why you are "not a fan of oiled type filters"? They have been around for a long long time and used in everything from VW's to Porsches and Ferraris. Until pretty recently, they were about the only type of aftermarket high performance filters available for most cars. I think even the AFe data shows that the oiled filters flow a bit better than the dry ones.

There is a new option now; dry cotton filters that you can just wash and not have to oil. |

I believe AFE carries drop-in filters for your 1-series. PM me if you're interested in placing an order. We are a huge distributor for AFE products

as i cant confirm(dont have my 1er yet should be here end of month) people say that we dont have a MAF sensor and the ecu gathers its data all from the MAP sensor..now since these sensor measure different data idk about that....can someone please confirm if the 135i has a MAF sensor? if we dont then the oiled filters shouldnt create a problem.......
