LCI Tails - seeing is believing
Got a loaner the other day while my X5 was in the shop. '12 135. First thing I noticed was the new tail lights. Pictures just don't do these thing justice. I contemplated swapping them out on my car
Anyway, I'm sold but I can't figure out.. Will the LCI Tail Lights work on a 03/08 build without coding? Anyone, help? |

This must be the most asked question in this section!
In hope that this will answer it once and for all, YES it will work plug and play. Halogen version/LED version that comes with Xenon kit will BOTH work PnP |

The car has the the factory alarm. I searched thru all the menus in the computer area and I guess one of the icons I switched on made the audible beep.
Haven't been back in those setting since, lol.

What is the allure of these tail lights? Do folks really like the design of the tail lights better? Or is it just the fact that these are the new tail lights?
IOW, if these were the old ones and BMW switched to what we have now, would everyone want to upgrade? I have to admit, I didn't like them at first, but they have grown on me. When I got my first E46 in 1999, the 323i came with the black "slats" in the kidney grill and the 328i came with chrome "slats". So everyone "upgraded" to 328i chrome slats. 10 years later the chrome slats are standard and everyone "upgrades" to the BMW Performance all black kidneys..... |
