135i caliper + 335i rotor

Hi, does anyone know if this combination is possible? Will the caliper allow a 30mm rotor in between the pads?

There is a RB rotor upgrade using 350x28mm rotors but i know the 335i's are 30mm wide. Will this be feasible????

no and the offset is different so even if you could fit the 30 mm you wouldn't be able to run that rotor with our caliper wo a custom bracket

You could put a rotor on with a larger diameter if the bracket allowed for it, but you are limited to rotors with the same thickness, so 28mm.

I already have 335i rotors/calipers on, i know i need a modified bracket for the larger diameter rotor, which i can make my self.

I need confirmation on the width from someone that know for sure the caliper won't take 30mm wide rotors.

if you're willing to file down your brake pads then you can fit the 30 mm rotor. so you have 335 rotors and calipers on your 130? I am guessing your 130 didn't come with the 135 brembos. not familiar with the 130 specs but I am guessing you made your own bracket to fit the 335 hardware?

30mm should fit there was a thread where guy from Russia (dieselspeed) did E46 M3 rotors which is also 30mm thick he made adapters to fit them. Try to search.

Hi, thanks for the advice.

The 130i came with 330x24 discs if I remember right. The 335i hardware actuallly just bolted on, it was all plug and play.

My idea is now to use 135i/performance calipers with the 335i rotors but after reading any other thread about brakes I think to better not.

For street use the 135 caliper is fine....but yes, to get a 30mm disc in there you'll have to file down the pads when you first put them in. Even with 28mm rotor new pads drag for the first few miles.

I already had bought one caliper and wasn't able to cancel the deal so I will have to proceed

I will skim 1mm off all pads and that will make my setup as if I was using 28mm rotors. I will also work on the bracket, which more likely it will be just a spacer to push out the caliper. I will share you all guys my development in case someone else wants to follow this approach.

I have this adapter but the rotor is not 30 mm it's a 345x28 mm.

Yeah you are right. I guess it is not worth to go that way if it will fit it will be to tight for heat transfer.
