Blackfire Wet Diamond - wow!!!

Hi everyone, I am a new 1 owner, a 128i vert. See, am getting the lingo down already.LoL. My question is my car has the black sapphire metallic exterior so do I need to use anything special for the black? Thanks in advance.

I recommend that at the very least you buy:

Two 5-gallon bucket grids for a 2-bucket wash system. If you don't have 5-gallon buckets at home then buy two of them.

A sheep-hair wash mitt.

1-2 waffle weave microfiber drying towels.

A good maintenance shampoo - chemical guys and poor boys rank pretty high in the enthusiast world.

A good sealant and quick detailer - blackfire wet diamond is my brand of choice for these two; hence this thread. After sealant, wax is optional, but with blackfire most of us don't use a wax over it.

I consider this to be enough to get started. Assuming your car's surface is new and well cared for, you may not need to claybar just yet, but if you wish to start from scratch, buy a claybar and lubricant kit as well.

Also get a few applicator pads.

Understand that your car's color brings beauty and elegance to the table, but black is difficult to maintain, which is why I suggested the products above. They will help avoid microscratches, swirl marks, blemishes, etc - all of which are very visible on black cars if not cared for properly.

You're welcome! You won't believe your eyes when you finish applying and removing wet diamond. I forgot to mention to get a few regular microfiber towels for when buffing off wet diamond. Enjoy!

"great" is an understatement...look at the pics and judge for yourself. Now mind you, the pics on the previous page were taken with an iPhone 3GS and look how amazing the car looks.

This is one of the best products ever (in my opinion). I have officially given up on waxes

All good advice...couple things id add:

I tried the sheepskin but it leaves hair; i just use a decent quality microfiber wash mitt.

Washing technique is like 75% of the trick. On sides only wash up and down..vertically. On top, hood, roof, back..go only back and forth..direction that the wind takes. Never wash in circles.
