N55 Mids or Single 3" Midpipe

I have been searching for answers and just emailed Terry about this, but who knows about running a single 3" midpipe from my berk catless downpipe to my BMW PE? Is the single 3 inch midpipe better because of a straight through design creating less backpressure? What are the advantages of having two 2.25" OD midpipes with a N55 midpipe? Let me know what you guys think. I know someone has done this before so let me know.

Also curious about this. I hate that it goes from one, to two, back to one.. I'd love to do a single 3 or 3.25 exhaust. And I'd love to hear one if someone's done it already.. (on an N55)

We've done this on our project E82 135i. We have a single 89mm pipe with a quad axle back exhaust system. Sounds deeper, and saves a little weight.
