If more of these pop up, BMW must not have ANY clue what the problem is.

That's why I havent bought my M3 yet. Bmw seems unable to fix issues with their cars. Instead of making new N55, DCT etc just fix the stupid N54 properly and make sure it works.

BMW is working on a fix. They have extended the warranty to over 100K on the pump, and I can guarantee that replacing pumps over and over and over is not an effective long term solution.

This is definitely a system problem vs a design problem, because some of us have zero problems and some of you have problem after problem after problem.

It does get a bit repetitive, it's like reading the Hunchback of Notre Dame and having someone point out every page that he is, indeed, a hunchback.

Before you tackle a new project you fix what you have....and what 3 years not a fix yet......?

for all we know, there could be multiple n55's with hpfp replacements, this is just the first one that was posted on this forum.

this is so dumb.... thats WHY i got an N55. I would have tried for a '10 had I known they were using the same HPFP in the '11s.

I just got off the phone with my dealers master tech. He just told me that the new 402 HPFP isn't yet going into all cars because they don't have enough of them to do that at this point. For now they are being special ordered and put into cars that are having problems. According to him, none of the new 402 pumps they have put in have failed, but then again, I'm having issues and I have the new 402. To be fair though I might have some other issue other than the pumps at this point.

I made this sweet video to show you how great my car is working . You'll want to turn the sound up on this one.

It was completely random, but at the end of the video you can hear an engine reving and tires squealing. Out to the left there is a mustang sitting in the middle of the road trying to launch his car and having a hell of a time doing it.

Unfortunately, it's a bit of wishful thinking that the N55 will solve all our HPFP problems. However, I myself have ordered an N55 135i which is coming late August.

According to a survey conducted on this forum some time ago, around 25% of members have had a HPFP fail on their N54. If the N55 has drastically reduced that failure rate, then BMW has made an improvement IMO.

AND this is only ONE reported failure on this forum... The N55 has been around since 2008 on other BMW vehicles right?

You have to pay to play! But yeah... we are paying a fair bit of money for our N54 and N55's...

this is the first hpfp failure posted on this forum. it would be incredibly naive to think this is the first n55 hpfp failure ever, especially when mike from n54tuning.com has confirmed there have been other failures. btw, the n55 just came out this year, it hasn't been out since '08.....that's the n54 you're thinking of

Its like my Daddy always told me. "Son, if it has tits or tires, its gonna give you headaches." Atleast its a known issue and BMW NA is working on fixing it. Better than not having a warranty to cover it at all.
