I can imagine the hellish uncertainty you guys are going through... waiting all these months only to come to the last few days in the ultimate grey area, where nobody knows for sure when they'll be in. It's cruel & perhaps a bit unprofessional for BMWUSA to be so coy about when they will actually be released.
I'm thankful to have a hard date for my PCD, even if it is a few days behind the pioneers. |

I just called Western Trucking who I know will be taking my 135i from the LA VPC to Washington state and they told me that the VIN is still not released for pickup yet, but they know about it. So it may be getting close, but it is a 5 day journey from there to the dealer so if it is not loaded tomorrow I am not making Monday for pickup, but it better be soon or I will be p!ssed if it is not there by at least the 22nd!!!
And yes Cracka....it is hellish not knowing....you get your hopes up, then down, then up....freakin BMW rollercoaster from Hell!!! |

Visited the dealer today. My CA told me that the launch date has been moved to 03-27. My 128 is estimated to leave Charleston on the 14th, arrive the 17th. But, the CA says that is just an estimate, depending on the unknown [new launch date, etc. ?]

Yep looks like it will be the 17th, and I will be in Europe! Damn! I will pick mine up on Friday the 21st!!! And I will have all weekend to enjoy it, and there after every day for as long as I keep it - which will be many years I am sure!!!

Demo car for my dealer is suppose to port tomorrow. My car could be on the same boat but my SA could not confirm nor give me ship's name. He said the earliest is that weekend of 21th.

I didn't follow what some of you are saying about paperwork.
Here in Georgia you go to the dealer, sign the papers that give them power of attorney to send in for title and registration. You have to show them proof of insurance (the card from the previuos car is good enough). They slap a temp tag (good for 30 days) on the car. At this point you get in the car and drive off. The whole process takes less than an hour. You'll spend more time having the SA explain the car features than the legal process. About two-to-three weeks later title, registraion and plates arrive at your house. In my case, for PDC delivery, all this has been taken care of already (I stopped by the dealer last Saturday for this). Before I leave for Spartanburg I have to stop at the dealer and pick up the temp tag and some release paperwork. Official release papers are sent to the VPC about two weeks ahead. Every state I have lived in and every car I have purchased (that wasn't PDC or something like that) I've been able to drive of the lot in an hour or two. |

True, but it's legal to be the quarterback and marry your wide receiver here. Not that there's anything wrong with that. (Seinfeld references rock)
