Telling customers otherwise just to secure a sale is shadey business and you need to stop.>>>> I can't add anything to this. Thanks Jeremmmy for clearing it up! |

Psst - hey shodanusmc - I think there is a money-making opportunity here.
Anger Management Clinic in Evansville, IN. I'd take a stab at it, but you're closer than me. Let me know how it turns out. Have Fun, Rick

You know how you can tell when you've won an argument on a forum like this? When the best your opponent can do is call you names, pick out typos, or attempt to make fun of you based on some sort of assumptions garnered from your location. (Hint: I'm about as far removed from a farmer as it gets.) Thanks for that. I'm going to have some beers. |

I've had both the JB+ and the JB3 1.4. JB3 has been installed over 2 months now running on map 5 and I've never thrown a code with either tune. The tune is all I have and I run 93 octane. I was really worried about codes and my warranty so I purchased the BT cable. It's worth every penny for the peace of mind. If you stick to the guidelines given by Terry and Mike on which map to run, you're less likely to throw a code. Before taking your car in for ANY type of service, I would highly recommend clearing any tuner codes and completely removing ALL of your tune/mods. Don't give the service people any fuel and you won't be under any fire. If you don't, you only have yourself to blame. Just my .02

Or you can pay extra money for Dinan, which will backstop BMW's warranty, is pure software (for Stage 1 & 2), and you can be completely up front with your dealer - instead of hiding your tune by clearing codes and taking out ECU hardware.

So I have also been interested in either a JB+ or JB3 tune since I have had my car (august). However, I am really not great with cars so installing the thing is going to be an issue, I am so timid about screwing with the engine because I don't know enough about it to go poking around in there. Anyone know if there are specialty auto shops that can install tunes and what not? (I live in Albany ny and sorry if this sounds like a ridiculous question) Would the JB+ be a good tune for a beginner?

Grab the JB+, enjoy it, and if you think you need more power upgrade, and if not you're set. Its a simple install so great for beginners. You can PM or email me if you have any more questions Mike |
