N55 7 speed DCT DYNO

I'm putting the car on the rollers finally tomorrow!

First off, anyone dyno a DCT car? What gear should it be in? Sport mode? Dct on or off?
Power Mods are...
-BMW performance tune
-AFE intake
-ECS charge pipe
-Active Autowerke axle back

I have no clue what to expect, but will post dyno charts tomorrow...

DYNO sheet.....of course my scanner decides to not work anymore so I took a couple pictures of it.
It was done on a Dyno-jet

If its too blurry....
1st run 288.45 whp 306.57 wtq
2nd run 293.29/299.77
3rd run 292.49/302.31

Pretty happy overall. Next on the list will be Active Autowerkes FMIC.

I had my 2012 135i DCT on a dyno. Only power mod is a catback. Pushed 286rwhp / 291rwtq.

This is good news! So what gear did they use? Sport mode?

No idea sir. It's up to the tuner. I don't think sport mode does anything to the power. Sport mode just makes the throttle more responsive and the gear changes more aggressive.

Those are great results from stock + exhaust! On a dynojet I was at 257/268 with SAE correction factor with the same thing! Talk about a huge difference.

I think with the DCT it should be same as a 6mt. Generally they will put it in manual mode in 4th gear to do the roll with DSC off.

Thanks guys!

My goal was 300 whp, but realistically, 285+

285 should be doable on dyno jet.
Manual mode, sport mode, dsc off, 3rd gear that's what i did on mine and put down 299 on super flow dyno.

I did mine on a Dynojet. HP=284.82 Torq=291.69. My 2011 w/ dct, PPK1,and Mad dad whisper cat back. I was hoping to be at 300 hp, so I was a little dissapointed. The issue was the dct., it just kept up shifting. I was in sport mode with dct off. The guy running the dyno didnt really know how to work with a dct trans, so I will be interested to see how you do.

I am guessing you have to be in manual mode, and the guy running the dyno cannot go past the kickdown.

3rd gear? I thought you are supposed to dyno in the gear that is closest to 1:1.

Yes, on old tech RR's that would be preferable, but 1:1 in a DCT car is 7th gear as 7th is direct with a 2.56:1 rear end ratio.

My stock 135i with DCT was dyno'd on a Dyno Dynamics in 3rd in manual mode with DSC off, avoiding the kickdown, and ran 256rwhp.

I think they ran my car in 4th gear.....I could be wrong. Either way, the power makes sense given your stock numbers plus my mods I have.
