TPM iDrive
Hi all
Do you know if '08 iDrive can show which one/correct tire is low/flat? Or it's just shows malfunction message? Really want to find it out. I heard something after software update it's possible to see correct tire. |

My '08 with iDrive just shows the malfunction message, does not indicate which tire is causing it.

Same with my '09 with iDrive, it showed the tire that was low.

I have not had an iDrive update (that I know of). And no, I can't see dual displays on my iDrive since it's an '08 with the smaller, flip-up screen.

I have an early '08 128i with iDrive. Initially, it would not show which tire was low, but after an unrelated recall last year (seatbelt, IIRC), it now indicates the offending tire. I assume some software was updated.
And there is a limited split screen available as follows: Set Navi to show the map. Go to the left side and click on the Guidance icon. The screen will split and guidance arrows will appear on the right. Turn Guidance off by clicking the Guidance icon again. The Guidance arrows will be replaced by the location screen, showing latitude, longitude and altitude - useful when driving in the mountains. Unfortunately, when the system is powered down, you have to repeat all these steps as it defaults to the last map view on the entire screen. If anyone has discovered an easier method or more split options, I hope they will post. Tom |
