Bad Battery Affect Fuel Injection Efficiency

Today replaced the battery. Didn't really think much of it as this is just part of ownership, and only ever thought about it's purpose as to start the car; fine, no big deal.

But when I cranked it up, I immediately noticed she has a much stronger, and faster crank to start time, just seemed a bit more effortless for her.

I have a tune and sealed CAI, but I took her out for a spin to go grab dinner and I swear it just seemed to respond better at the throttle.

I got home and Googled the topic of car performance vs a bad battery; and the topic came up about voltage to the fuel injection.

I would have always assumed that this power would come from the alternator providing power, am I wrong?

Appreciate anyone able to clarify.

Same as you. New battery and battery monitoring module installed Friday.
The car seems to crank on with more authority, and gusto.

.......Or maybe not 😀

The fact it started much stronger is because the new battery is better able to provide the starter motor with the amps it needs.

As mentioned above....a new battery will crank the car easier. As for the fuel injector efficiency...it possibly could affect it.

Look at it this way...if the alternator is doing most of its work trying to charge a bad battery, that is where the biggest load on the system is especially if the battery has a bad cell and won't typically charge to 12V or more.

With a fresh battery, the voltage being generated by the alternator is more evenly distributed throughout the rest of the car's electronics.

Just my take on it as when a battery starts going bad on these cars and others such as my corvette that have a ton of electronic instruments...it seems to make everything act more "flakey".
