Canada made out quite well with 220 units considering the population is ~1/10 that of the US.

I have heard that there are more M cars sold per capita then any other country.

Let's count 1M per capita situation:

Germany 1000 (and counting till July), population around 82 million people. One 1M per 82,000 people.

Canada 220, population close to 35 million. One 1M per 159,090 people.

Germany wins the per capita game.

From that list, worst (or best, depends how you look) is Turkey:
3 1Ms for around 75 million people. 1 per 25 million.

I have two points with my previous statement.

1. With such a small population, Canada was allotted a disproportionate number of 1Ms compared to our friends to the south.

2. The per capita statement is a bit confusing. I think what my dealer said was if you compare the ratio of buyers of M models to non-M models, more consumers chose M models in Canada. I have no idea if it's true or not.

I was at the Vancouver International Auto show today. At the BMW display I asked about the number of 1Ms that came to Canada. The people that I questioned were from "corporate" (BMW Canada). They did not know the answer but made a number of phone calls to folks "who would know for sure." The answer was that 250 were sold in Canada versus the 220 that we have believed to be the final number.

I'm not sure what to believe here regarding numbers? It's very frustrating! It does have an impact on whatever plaque is produced ie XX out of YY 1Ms.

As far as I know, we have three 1M`s here in Latvia.

I just talked to the BMW dealer here in Peru and he told me that about 40 1Ms have been sold in Lima. That takes into account the ones produced in 2011 and the ones being produced until june 2012.

between the performance center Woodcliff Lake and Oxnard they have about 40 - 50 1Ms some are non us spec and will be reset to the US spec and sold.
