Wing & Windshield trip.
Flying across the country tomorrow to pick up a ‘09 135i. Buying a car sight unseen and driving it 2600 miles home is normal, right? Especially after a less than 12 hour layover at home from last trip.

That's how I got my car. I knew it wasn't going to be a brand new car, and there weren't really any surprises. It was great to have a nice long drive to get to know the car. I do wish I'd done it in warmer weather to enjoy driving with the top down. Next time, I guess!

I'm in Canada and have bought 4 BMWs in the USA, sight unseen. Mind you money never changed hands until I did see them.
Richmond Va. E30, kept 12 yrs, garage queen, never had a problem, drove there & home with it (in winter but roads clean) Hartford Ct. E46, eBay "mistake" but good car, never had a problem, drove there Pittsburg Pa. E46, good car, wheels slightly bent, had to dye leather, flew there Brunswick Ga. my present 128, not a problem in 8 years (2008) and expect to keep it forever (E30 was 27 yrs old when I sold it). 1200 mile trip home was awesome. |

You sound like you'll fit right in here lol. I drove from MD to NC and back in a day to get each of my 1ers. Not nearly as far but you're in good company haha.
Definitely stop at a dealership and get some supplies/fluids. Make sure everything checks out before hitting the road.

Congrats on the car and welcome... your wife too, since the car is for her.

150 miles in, no issues. Still going to take it easy on the go pedal until I get closer to home.
95* ambient, oil temp hovering at the 2 in 250* normal? It’s an ‘09 N54. |

The 1er does get under your skin, especially after a drive like that. I guess we'll see... PS - from the looks of it, he's got some other fun cars to choose from.

We don’t really do “his car - her car”, but she did decide to keep my E36 M3 and leave me her 325i. That led to the Touring and E46 M3. The 135 will replace the E36M3. The E46 M3 is donating all its good parts to the Touring. Louisiana to New Mexico tomorrow. (Later today at this point) |
