Not to discount your loss but you should make out well.

It is funny that our cars don't come with alarms or wheel locks.

I use Gorilla wheel locks.

I should make out well? How do you figure? I'm hoping Geico doesn't stiff me on the wheels because they are aftermarket. I am looking for used Potenzas though to see if I can save some cash.

UPDATE: My car was one of 5 hit in the same night. They took all four wheels from my car, a corvetter, and 3 caddys all in a 5 mile radius of Alexandria, VA. I'm just glad they were pros and were only after the wheels. I'm just hoping the cinder blocks didn't do any damage.

"Sorry, there are no installation kits available for this vehicle."

Actually, yes:

edit:

I have not put locks on my 1er yet. But on other cars I have used them. My old ('80) RX-7 had the studs...

edit again: Just checked the link I posted. It reverts back to the main page. You'll have to click bmw/1series to see the products

Sorry, I thought the wheels were stock. I'm sure it would really be hard for me since I have no receipt and my aftermarket wheels are used. Good luck.

If you didn't specifically ask for coverage for aftermarket wheels, you don't have it.

Good news is you should get replacement cost and OEM wheels are spendy, so you should be able to get enough money to get some new ones. Powder coating though you'll have to pay for again.

Kits have valve stems and a little bag.

Geico said today that since I had BMW wheels they'd cover the cost. Granted the 182's in black aren't much more than the 264's, but they're going to cover them nonetheless. Right now they're only giving me $200 for each tire though. I'm hoping I can get them to buy me brand new Potenzas.

How many miles were on the tires?

They're going to pro-rate them no matter what you do.

Since you had 14k miles on those tires, I think that $800 is a pretty good deal. That amount would almost buy you four new non-RFT tires. Good luck getting more out of the insurance claim.

OBTW, sorry for your loss. I am not much of a fan of lug locks, as many have said they only slow pros down a little. Now would a good alarm system with motion sensor scare them off with the siren noise and lights flashing??? I am getting the factory alarm installed next week and I will lift the car on a jack and see if it sets the alarm off.

I hear you are looking for tires. I have four Bridgestone RE050 RFTs off a stock 135i with only 1800 miles. Just like new for sale at $500 plus shipping. You can pocket $300 from the insurance claim.
