Passenger side window rattle : solved!
I've read a lot on this site about rattling noises coming from the passenger side door. I did some searching but I didn't find any definitive answers as to the cause and fix.
The rattle was only obvious over rough pavement or moderate bumps. It sounded like there was something loose inside the door and that the glass was slapping against the interior belt weatherstrip. I honestly expected a comment like "Tech could not duplicate customer complaint". You can imagine my surprise when I they told me the found the cause of the rattle and it was fixed. The tech notes from the repair order read: "Test drove vehicle. Could hear rattle type noise coming from inside pass door. Brought vehicle in shop, removed the pass door panel and the vapor barrier and found the pass window regulator slightly rattling against the door. Tightened regulator bolts and insulated contact spot. Re assembled then test drove vehicle again and rattle was gone". The rattle is gone and I couldn't be happier. Not sure if there is a TSB relating to this but it may help some of you who may be experiencing the same type of noise. -Ant |
