Identifying N51 vs N52
Is there anything that is easily identifiable from a standard engine bay picture to tell if a car is N51 or n52? I'm searching online for a 128i and it would save a ton of time.

Its pretty easy. Pop the hood and check the emissions label. It will be a LEV or SULEV on the label.
I am in a non sulev state but found a smoking deal on a sulev and bought it anyways. Not too worried about as it's not near like it was with the E46. Found a link that will help you: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/t-e...n51_or_lev_n52 Its about E90 but same principal. Last edited by Wretched; 10-08-2020 at 07:50 PM.. Reason: Link |

Look for the air pump and hose just in front of the coolant tank. That area is open for N52s. Also check for front license plates. Most N51 states require front plates .
