Upgraded PCV valve?

Hey guys, after nearly 2 years I'm finally getting around to replacing my leaking valve cover gasket. I've done some research and a lot of older posts recommended getting an upgraded PCV valve when doing the VCG. I haven't seen any recent discussions on the topic. Is this an upgrade worth getting or should I skip it? Thanks!

I did, can't see any reason why you wouldn't since it's right there and really inexpensive. Won't ever get any easier to swap than sitting in your living room watching tv

Even better, you end up with a new spare to keep on the shelf just in case.

Yeah....when I was looking around to buy my car, one of the models I was ready to get needed to be sent in for this as it was a recall. Dealer said they couldn't legally sell it with an open recall. This was in NC.

I asked them why they even had it on the lot if they knew this. Well I told them to have the recall performed and I would pick the car up when finished.

A day later I was told it was ready to come get. The night before I left to het it, they called me to inform me that they just sold the car, I was furious!!!

But all things happen for a reason....about a month later I found my current car...later year model, lower miles, and a lower price. And it even had the sport seats and M suspension which the other car didn't have.

My car doesn't show any open recalls so I'm assuming mine is up to date. Also it's a 2010. Should I still bother getting one?

I thought the PCV recall was specific to the N52. Does it also affect the 135i?
