They come from a company with racing experiece yet they fit a tight budget. They have been around for Japanese models for a long time and only very recently started making their push into the euro market. If you want reviews you will find plenty at Honda forums. I have heard nothing but good over there. I would rather recommend the tried and tested H&R Cup kits if budget is a concern or KW Variant 1 if you want the ability to adjust ride height.

D2 is not known for comfort. These are low budget racing coilovers. Springs rates are linear and very stiff. I couldn't recommend them for daily driving. There is another brand by the name of K-sport that are really just rebadged D2.

You sure about that? They look different and I thought K-Sport was a dutch company.

D2 and K-Sports come from the same factory in China. They can't make stuff that cheap in Europe or the USA.

I am curious. What sort of racing experience does D2 Racing have?

I had D2 coilovers on my GC8 Impreza. The dampers were horrible for a street driven car. Plus they had a cheap "one size fits all" lower mount that you would use to adjust camber (which would probably be the same for the front of a 1 series), to make a long story short, they wouldn't maintain an alignment on the street either. So I completely suggest not using them. My experience running D2's completely changed my opinion on dampers. Nothing is more important than tires and dampers when it comes to suspension, so invest as much as you can on those 2 items.

Something interesting to see about the QC on some of the mystery dampers.

On this set of K-Sport's tested on a shock dyno, if you had the left damper at full stiff, and right at full soft, their rates would almost match...... But I guess this could be a good thing if you were running on ovals.

You'll be better off investing in an entry level coilover, from a high quality manufactuer. KW V1's are right around $1300 for a set.

Testing credit goes to TriPoint Motorsports.
