Exclamation Fighting Codes

Been fighting these codes for months.

Also historically had 2A87, 2AA3, 2AA1, 2A9F

I have done almost everything I think it could be. Back story I would get a random violent clunk in the engine and go limp. Sounds like the cam bumping inside the engine. Cleaned vanos solenoids, helped, eventually came back. Replaced vanos solenoids fine for a few months. Came back, replaced both boost solenoids. Fine for some time came back. I replaced the camshaft position sensor last summer but it wasn't brand new off another engine (maybe I'll get a genuine one and not the VDO BS). Waterpump and thermostat were just changed at the end of August. Idk why I'm getting the electric coolant pump power reduced operation. Someone suggested the red battery power distribution box might be going bad.

The car does have 252,700 miles.....could be the actual VANOS need to be rebuilt? Besides that car is running fine and pushing great. Someone also said it could be the camshaft sensor fuse wherever that is. It's an intermittent issue some weeks I'm limp at startup and multiple times driving to work, some weeks nothing and no boost issues.

SOMEONE HELP. Currently I'm still dailying this 1er it has brand new pure 600 turbos and running a stage 2 tune I just want it to be tip top.

What's your battery condition like? I remember getting weird random codes when my battery started to die. So it could be that or the red junction box, there was a recall for that a long time ago.

I would look into a bad ground or corrosion in a connector. Wouldn't think it would be an issue in the desert, but ...
Could be as bad as needing timing chain work and vanos rebuilt.

Battery is new less than 5 years and it could be the junction box I'm just tired of throwing money at the car when it doesn't fix it.

Yeah I hear you, been down that road several times with boost leaks and misfire issues.

What engine is this? If N54 then likely need cam ledges replaced…although I don't know why there would be an actual clunking noise.
