I've been looking for different suspension set ups and haven't found anyone who runs Ohlins coil-overs. There are a few comparable high performance sets available: KW ClubSport and CROSS. There are a few peolpe on this board running with those if you are looking for reviews.

Without specific reference to 1 series, Ohlins stuff is no doubt top end, but you pay for it!

I wish! I've been waiting for a proper damper for this car - due to the low volumes I'm not holding my breath. If I had the equipment, I'd consider building myself an Ohlins setup.

Shiv is wrong, even the Road&Track (Ohlins low end) dampers are quite good - better than any existing setups.

Is there an E90 setup? Might be possible to convert that.

i think you are misunderstanding, and i have to take a stand to say shiv is probably never wrong he is the mad scientist of the tuning world.. He said ohlins or something of that level is all he would switch to.

Yes, I misunderstood - I used to do quite a bit with Ohlins on several platforms - fantastic dampers.

As for Shiv, well, I disagree - but that's neither here nor there ;-)

Then you know about the infamous box of rocks ohlins rattle.

Seriously, B5 S4 ohlins you dealt with are on an entirely different level than 99% of the setups available for those cars.

ummm, that's the sound of performance!

We did setups on EVOs, Elises, STis, Caymans, MkIVs etc etc. They often needed some tweaking with valving and springs, but once setup properly, great suspensions!

I don't know about that...as much as I am a fan of Ohlins (if I can effort it that is ), I wouldn't go as far as saying that. Do you really think Road&Track is better than things like KW Clubsport (I have that set up) or high end Koni's etc? I have never done a direct comparison, but I have my reservations about that!

I was comparing to what I consider "street" setups, the V1-V3s, the PSS*, etc etc. The high-end Koni stuff is pretty nice, just not streetable IMO.

I haven't had experience with the KW Clubsport, so I have no opinion there.
