Recent purchases of BMW PPK?
I am in the market for a N55 135i and wanted to add the Performance Power Kit 1 (PPK1).
Has anyone recently purchased it and had it installed? I'm curious what kind of deals, or not, people have been getting. PPK has definitely gone up in price since it first came out. The most recent threads on PPK purchases are a few years old. Last edited by caranddriver; 09-04-2014 at 01:04 AM.. |

Got PPK1 for $300 + 125 for the install. I found that deal on here but that was last year and they only had 3 "codes" to sell.
I definitely recommend it though. |

Heres what Dackelone had to say about PPK1, which is software only. PPK2, which is more expensive, adds some cooling hardware that isn't necessary unless you are tracking your car. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...1&postcount=24 Steve

Is it noticeable on the low-end (0-80 mph, through the gears), or is it mostly up high (where I'd never see/use it)?
Also, what does it do to your mileage, under normal (non-aggressive) driving? Thanks!

I just had the PPK2 installed about 1 to 2 months ago.
I can say I haven't noticed a change in the MPG I was getting pre PPK install. PM me if you want to know where I got mine paid $1520 shipping included for it. Last edited by zx10guy; 09-03-2014 at 08:35 PM.. Reason: Clarified cost. |

$1520 for PPK2 is a bargain! I remember paying $1800 for the PPK2 on my first 135i back in 2012 and that was a vpc port installed job.

I also have been considering PPK1 but dealer quote is almost $1000 (800 + 150 install) which seems too expensive for just software.
If it was $300 I would have done it weeks ago...if anyone knows any way to get it for...550 or less please let us know |

I am also wanting to do the same thing and was hoping maybe the price would be coming down. Since there are no more new 1ers this means smaller market and people who maybe have done it already? So, time for the dealer to sell them cheap! (wishfull thinking)
My dealer wants $800 and then $201 to install. Found out today that they give 10% off to BMWCCA members on parts/acc. So, would have it for $720 Still would like to see it in the no more than $600 range. Anyone have a line on these? |

I had PPK1 installed on my '13 a few months back and it was 999.99. I'd say there is a very noticeable difference between stock and PPK IMO.
My gas mileage has always sucked on surface streets. Freeway mileage seems the same.. maybe 21 mpg but on the surface streets I'm lucky to get 14. |

$1800 total for a PPK2 is the real bargain. Re-read my post again and I can see why it's a bit misleading. The $1520 total is supposed to mean with shipping without labor. Last edited by zx10guy; 09-03-2014 at 08:34 PM.. |

One of the requirements is the limiter raised to 155 mph. Not sure why but you can run the vin on a lot of sites selling PPK. Bmwpartstore has it for $720. You can find it cheaper or sometimes your dealer runs specials. I got mine for 25% off a few months ago. As for Gas mileage, highway is no change. A couple weeks ago on a 1100 mile trip I averaged 27 on mostly highway driving. Part # is 11122219487 for PPK1.

I remember when BMW was having their sale for PPK1, I think it was around the $600 range. That's when I got mine. Noticeable change and I love the added burbles.

I have the oil cooler but not the higher top speed limiter. I've actually tested it, so it sounds like I will be able to get the ppk. I'll have to make a call to my dealer to confirm.
