Why I love leatherette

I always cringed when I had to take the pooches to the vet in my acura with leather seats. I had tears indents and scrapes from their nails but haven't had a problem at all with the 'ette. Plus they both fit in the back! I love my car

That's awesome! Animals should be able to enjoy our vehicles as well!

Leatherette is awesome. And it's comfortable too; more comfortable than various leather Infiniti's I've had the pleasure of driving or being driven in (some of which are showing very early signs of wear with low mileage!). BMW boston leather would have be spectacular to get my money down the road...

I agree but was seduced by the Coral Red leather. After one year of ownership my drivers seat looks used and the passenger side looks brand new. I hate that part.

Nice looking pups!

I have a client that bought boots for his dog specifically to protect his car's interior. She's a young lab that's pretty out of control happy all the time. Seems to work okay.

Glad you enjoy it. I personally wish I'd gotten the leather. The letherette feels really cheap to me.

I have a black lab myself and have been looking at that BMW Protective Rear cover for when my car arrives. Has anybody here used one? I'd be interested in hearing how people like it.

My friend has it, and also has a black lab, and it is a must, and it can be washed in a washer. I however would not pay full retail, I'd check around, and have it drop shipped to your door.

I love my leatherette too. I also have leatherette in my E30 and it still looks like new, no signs of wear at all.

1. I have a yellow lab who rides with me a lot - top up OR down. She sits in the back seat and I need to vacuum her hair out of the car once a week. Thing is, I have a 3-35, not a 1-35. As you probably know, the rear seat back folds down so there is a flat, carpeted surface for her to sit on. Works just great!

2. I also have coral red - and my driver's seat is showing noticeably more wear than the passenger side too. And, I mean more than what seems normal. Bummer.

3. That rear seat protector is just great! But, for $300, I could fasten some velcro attachments to a large, thick beach towel and protect the seats that way - lots cheaper, and washable, too.

Actually, I wish cloth was offered as an option...even if it would cost more than leather or 'ette. It doesn't burn your bum in the hot, hot sun, and it doesn't get as cold when it's chilly.
