BMW will contact you if your name is on the list. They have a list of VIN numbers they need to contact. They will test each injector and if it needs replacing they will replace it.

I wish they would look at mine because ever since I got my car back from the dealership the injectors have been making a really loud ticking noise! Plus I have faulty ones in the past. Mine isn't on the list though

My injectors ticking is pretty loud. I've been telling my dealer about it for over 14 months and just last month he says there a camp for 40% of N54 injectors. I told him it's about F#$%ing time.
Each injector must be scanned and reprogrammed via ECU.

Can you hear the ticking noise? It's like an injector pulse.

Any youtube video of such sound? I know my engine is pretty noisy with a "ticking" noise but so did my E90 320i

Would be curious if that is the same noise.

Plenty Rai.
I actually saved the Youtube clips and showed my BMW Service Adviser.

It's the fast ticking train track sound

It a very common problem with alot of BMW six's.
My car has been making this sound for over 18 months and I've been tuned for most of that and it doesn't effect the performance of the car.

The injector noise cuts in about 1 minute after cold start and is very noticeable.
My n54 is a noisy little bitch. I also have lifter noises which is also common with these.
I'll be changing to Mobile 1 to see if I can reduce the lifter noise.

I just called my SA and he has no idea about this campaign - apparently he is going to call me back once he has done some research.

I will check the sound when I get home - So there is no long term effect even if you have this sound?

I am guessing the wastegate rattle is not a whole different can of worm and is not related with the ticking noise we are discussing atm?

I'm in for this in a few weeks. Don't listen to our resident JB troll, the wastegates aren't related to any brand of tune.

pfft I should have known better than to cast dispersions on your sacred cow. forgive me O' Prophet of Terry, I know not that I sin. Call off the dogs of war and spare this heretic from the flames of persecution. Please, continue to preach to the masses. I don't care what tune people run or who you want to suck up to, I think I just had enough of the JB fanboy club for a moment there. I promise not to take the bait again for a while.

Mine went in today and they replaced 4 out of 6 injectors and had a nice new 5 series diesel to drive for a day.
Put the tune back in and its spinning the tyres like crazy or i am imaging things.

Mine is idling rough in the morning or when it sits parked for a while. The engine warning light also lights up and had the half engine power light up a few times. Being doing this for the last six months on an off It's ok after a few minutes of driving and the engine light turns off. From my research on the forum it appear that it might be an injector problem. I had it I've already had the HPFP changed.

I had the problem checked about a month ago but they found nothing. It's going in to get checked this thursday. My warranty expires at the end of this month and want them to fix it before then.
