Put the tune back in and its spinning the tyres like crazy or i am imaging things.
I noticed the same thing. I eased the throttle from half to 3/4 on my way home on the motorway on a roll in 3rd gear and almost lost it into the side barrier, perhaps its still adjusting to the changes.

With these service-type recalls, when the work-order is registered to your VIN the work gets done irrespective of when. So even if I had mine done out of warranty in a couple of months, because it's been flagged on my car it doesn't matter to my hip-pocket and would be done at BMW's expense.

That's why I want to make sure that I have it looked at before warranty runs out. Even though they looked at it last month, it was only part of a normal service so I'm not confident that they may have flagged it properly. They recorded it on the Service report as "Unable to fault missfire/rough running from cold"

Even though my car was running like a chime smooth idle at cold and hot when they tested the injectors for tolerances 4 were replaced so they should find trouble with your injectors.
Westside BMW are great chaps.

Hmm maybe check your rear tyres because the technician took your car for a spirited test drive? Just joking, I'm sure it's running much harder with the new injectors.

Sounds like the injector problem. The symptoms usually occur during cold starts in the morning and you may get reduced power when driving. If this happens you will throw a code so take it in straight away.

I notice that all respondents on this thread are 135i drivers. Has anyone with a 125i - N52 motor experienced this problem? No a sound coming from my motor (cross fingers, touch wood).

My car goes in on Monday. Any reason for them to need access to ecu area other than if actively looking for tune?

Feels like my cars power has deteriorated over time or I'm just getting used to it. Hopefully new injectors will help with this.

To my knowledge there is no reason for them to go in there unless as you said they are actively looking for a tune which is unlikely. Ever since I have had a tune I have never taken it out for a dealer visit even while I was in warranty however in saying that the risk was always there.

My 03/08 car has always idled inconsistantly. Sometimes ok, other times it skips a beat and feels like i have a lumpy cam in it. I have taken it back on 2 occassions and the dealer found nothing. For some reason I never get info from either the dealer or the corp HQ regarding anything, not even a magazine.

Checked with BMW and mine is affected by the "injector campaign" (bloody hell - the words used to avoid the term RECALL!) and is now booked in. Will it make a difference? Will Richmond win another game this year? Will Australia ever win the ashes again?

Stay tuned for more exciting adventures of...............

Regarding having a tune or not, a camp is issued by BMW HQ in Germany and shouldn't matter as the parts are recalled as a defect. I'll be taking mine to BMW with Full bolt ons and meth. Can't wait to see the SA's face when he sees the big meth pump under the hood.

My understanding is that a recall means "quick, come in and we need to change something urgently" whereas campaign means "next time you're in we want to do something".

That is correct..

I just contacted Sylvania and booked my car in for next week.

As Kenny just stated, I was never contacted, as it is only a campaign and they where waiting for the next service to act on this " campaign".

What they actually do is remove each injector and scan the barcode, to see if it is part of the fautly batch that was manufactured.

Does anyone know the part number for injectors? I can see this being an out of pocket expense after warranty expires!

I'm sure i have cleaned off any carbon issue since the weekend

i'll send the Sylvania crew an email and see how we go.

I had my 94 Honda Prelude go in for a campaign-ey type thing with the harmonic balancer needing to be changed... That was about 2006 12 years later!

Should have seen the SA's face when they saw the big fat turbo hanging off the front of the motor
